Device Distribution Survey and Parent Tech Nights

8/15/2020

As we continue to prepare, we want to ensure that every student has what is needed to be successful on the first day of school. Therefore, we are once again sharing a survey related to device distribution. It will be very important that every student has access to a computer for remote learning this year. We are not recommending that students use iPads, phones or tablets for Google Meets and/or completion of assignments. Students should have access to a PC or Mac desktop/laptop or a chromebook. If your family needs a device for your child, please fill out this survey by Friday, August 21st. We will be distributing devices to families on Thursday, August 27th and Friday, August 28th. More information about distribution times will be emailed during the week of August 24th. Please note: if you still have a device at home from the spring, you can keep it and should continue to use it this fall.
We also want to share the schedule for our Parent Tech Nights during the week of August 31st. While we are not mandating attendance at these meetings, we will be noting attendance so our teachers are able to follow up with families who are not able to join. We will be providing a lot of important information about supporting students at home, and we want to be sure that everyone has access to the information so families will be prepared to go on the first day of school. The schedule for the virtual events is listed below, and all links will be shared on the Bell School calendar shortly.

Monday, August 31st      Kindergarten Tech Night   7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, September 1st   1st Grade Tech Night    6:30 p.m.   and 2nd Grade Tech Night   7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, September 2nd   3rd Grade Tech Night   6:30 p.m.   and     4th Grade Tech Night   7:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 3rd    5th Grade Tech Night   6:30 p.m.   and 6th-8th Tech Night  7:30 p.m.

If you have more than one child, we still encourage you to attend each meeting, as grade level specific information will be addressed at the beginning of each meeting. The technology support will be covered in every meeting, so once the grade level portion is completed, parents can leave the meeting unless they would like to review the technology information again.
