Social Emotional Curriculum

Bell School uses a research based curriculum called Second Step created by The Committee for Children.  It is very important to address the social and emotional learning needs of students in addition to the academic needs. Second Step has a K-8 scope and sequence which addresses the following topics: skills for listening, self-awareness and advocacy, emotional management, empathy, and problem solving. In the middle school curriculum, units also include bullying prevention, communication, and substance abuse prevention. For more information about this program, you can visit www.cfchildren.org.
