Arrival and Dismissal

​All Bell students start school at 8:15 a.m. and finish at 3:15 p.m.

Arrival Procedures

  • Kindergarten, Room 104, 4th and 8th grade students should line up at the North Entrance. Kindergarten teachers will meet students and walk them into the building.
  • 3rd and 7th grade students should line up at the Main Entrance. All students enter at the 8:15 bell.
  • 2nd and 6th grade students should line up at the south center door. 2nd grade students may enter at the first bell and 6th grade students enter at the second bell.
  • Room 119 (kindergarten), 1st and 5th grade students should line up at the south door.  Kindergarten and first grade students enter at the first bell and 5th grade students enter at the second bell.

Please note: Items dropped off for students in the main office will be placed in the teacher's mailbox. We will not deliver items to classrooms. Parents who have an appointment to meet with a teacher for official school business should sign in at the security desk to get a visitor's pass and report to the main office. 

Dismissal Procedures

Neighborhood students Grades K-8
K-3 students will be handed off 1:1 to parents or designees at assigned exterior locations near their designated dismissal door. Students in grades 4-8 will be dismissed by their homeroom teacher at their designated doors.

​Options Program students Grades 1-8 dismissed as "Walkers"
Students will be dismissed through the exterior doors of the auditorium near Oakley Avenue. Parents or designees are to meet students outside on the sidewalk. Students in grades 1-3 will be handed off 1:1 to parents or designees at assigned locations near the stairs/ramps.

After School Program Participants

Please note the main office will close at 3:30 p.m. daily. An administrator or security officer will be on site to assist with dismissal of students on days when there are scheduled after school programs such as Girl Scouts, Fine Arts, Clubs or Athletics.

K-2 students attending after school programs will be picked up from their homerooms by an adult and delivered to their after school program supervisors. Students remaining in the building beyond 3:30 p.m. are to be signed in at their designated after school program or location. Students cannot remain in the building unsupervised.

Parents picking up students in the Right At School program are asked to use the South entrance (Door #6) to the building on Waveland Avenue for pick-up.
